Revised information on Certified Pick up system (CPu) to container customers in Port of Antwerp-Bruges effective from 1.1.2026
by Maj-Len Ehrnrooth | 8 December, 2025

A few years ago, Port of Antwerp-Bruges has developed a digital, secure and integrated solution for the release of import containers; the Certified Pick up (CPu) system, which came into effect on 1.1.2021 and gradually replaced the old system of PIN codes.

The CPu is an application for container release, which guarantees a secure, transparent and efficient release process applying to all containers being unloaded from a vessel in the Port of Antwerp-Bruges, including transhipped containers and empty Shipper-Owned containers.

To cover the additional costs Transfennica will charge a fee of 5 (five) euro’s for every container discharged in port of Antwerp-Bruges with effect from 1.1.2026.

The CPu is mandatory for all chain partners involved in the release process for containers. Please ensure that your company is registered on CPu, in order to be able to receive the release rights and perform the necessary actions on your behalf (i.e. transfer/accept/decline/revoke of the release right). Also make sure to enter your EORI as unique identifier.

If your company already has a C-point account, you only need to connect with the CPu-console.
